Among the countless stories of near-death experiences (NDEs), there are some that are not only strange but also shocking to the core of many people's faith. One of them is the astonishing testimony of a man who claimed to have been clinically dead, met Jesus – and was told a shocking truth: Easter is not what God wants people to celebrate! Instead, he said, God revealed a “hidden pagan truth” behind this seemingly sacred holiday.
The story begins when this man – a devout Christian – had a serious accident that caused his heart to stop beating for several minutes. He was declared clinically dead by doctors, but was then miraculously revived. After waking up, he recounted an incredible spiritual journey: he was taken through a tunnel of light and met the Savior – Jesus – in a world filled with peace, light and love.
However, unlike the usual testimonies where everything is filled with peace, this man said that Jesus was very stern with him. He said: “You are following a religion that has been mixed with things I never taught. Look at what you and millions of others are doing on Easter.” And then, a series of images flashed before his eyes as if he were watching a movie: Easter eggs, rabbits, spring festivals, outdoor ceremonies, and symbols that had absolutely nothing to do with Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
Jesus pointed to the images and said: “This is not mine. This is from the world. This is borrowed from pagan rituals – which many people do not know.” He added, “The Easter you are celebrating is not to commemorate my resurrection, but to satisfy a mixture of faith and worldliness. You have changed the true meaning.”

The man was shocked to hear this. “Lord,” he asked, “are we not celebrating the day of your resurrection to glorify you?” Jesus answered gently but firmly, “My resurrection was not set on a pagan festival. You do not need rabbits, you do not need eggs, you do not need a spring festival. You need repentance, truth, and love in your hearts. I have never asked for a festival – I have asked for a change of heart.”
Then He pointed to another scene – a crowd gathered on Easter Sunday, dressed in beautiful clothes, taking pictures, decorating colorful eggs, but no one really thinking about the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus. “This feast has been emptied,” he said. “I am no longer present in it. You have let the world overwhelm me.”
The man said he wept in his soul. He felt as if everything he had ever done to “honor” God at Easter had been distorted. But Jesus did not leave him in despair. He said, “I have not come to condemn you, but to let you know the truth. Warn others. Lead them to true worship. Teach them to celebrate my resurrection every day, not just in ritual.” And then Jesus said one last thing: “Do not fear the truth – for only the truth will set you free.”
When the man woke up in the hospital, he felt as if his soul had been cleansed. But with it came a sense of urgency and a spiritual burden: he had to share this message. He began speaking at meetings, writing books, and making videos online, warning that Easter as we know it today was a dangerous blend of Christianity and pagan rituals—particularly those of ancient cultures like Babylon, Assyria, and the worship of Ishtar—which were symbols of fertility, springtime, and lust.
He emphasized that decorating eggs and mentioning rabbits were pagan fertility symbols that had nothing to do with early Christianity. He urged believers to go back to their roots—to honor the resurrection of Christ through renewed, holy living, not superficial celebrations.
His testimony was controversial. Many criticized him as an extremist, a distortion of religion. But thousands of others found it a wake-up call. They began to reexamine the way they lived their faith—whether they were truly worshiping God, or just following traditions without understanding their origins.
The man concluded with an emotional statement: “I am not writing this to break your traditions. I just want you to know the truth. Don’t wait until you stand before God to realize that what you thought was right has turned out to be wrong. If God warned me, surely He wants you to know.”
