In a world divided by race, ethnicity, and difference, profound spiritual experiences can sometimes bring messages that make humanity reflect. This moving story comes from a black woman in the United States who experienced a near-death experience and saw the unbelievable: she met Jesus – and what he revealed about white people shocked her, and the millions who heard her testimony.
Her name is Monica, a single woman living in the American South, where racism has left a deep mark. From a young age, Monica suffered a lot of pain and prejudice because of the color of her skin. She grew up in poverty, was rejected at school, was doubted in supermarkets, and was even treated disrespectfully in hospitals. This gradually led to bitterness in her heart. Despite being a person of faith, Monica confessed that she had harbored a lot of doubt and anger toward “white people” – the people she believed were the cause of all the pain in her life.
Monica’s life changed abruptly when she was hospitalized for a heart attack. Within minutes, her heart stopped beating. Doctors tried to save her but there was no hope. During the time she was declared “clinically dead,” Monica said that her soul was swept into an unusually peaceful space. And there, she met Jesus.
Jesus did not ask about religion, did not judge her sins, but looked at her with eyes full of love. Monica said that she had never felt so accepted in her life. Jesus held her hand, and led her through scenes that were beyond words. But one thing she remembered forever – the conversation she had with Jesus about race, especially white people.

She asked Him in tears, “Why do white people always make me feel inferior? Why do they rule everything, and we are always the ones who suffer?” She poured out all that she had kept hidden—the anger, the pain, the sense of injustice.
Jesus was not angry. He gently replied, “My beloved child, in my kingdom there is no color. People look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart. I did not create people to hate each other because of color. Sin has divided them. Fear, pride, and ignorance have blinded them to each other.”
And then Jesus showed Monica that souls—black, white, Asian, Native—were all the same, shining not because of color but because of the light of love. He continued: “There are many white people on this earth who have light in them. They are also My children, who also suffer, who also love. There are white people who spend their lives healing the wounds of others – in silence.”
Monica said that she saw a vision of a white woman she had never met – a nurse in a faraway land – caring for black patients with all her heart. God said: “You see? Love knows no color. If you hold on to hatred, you will not see My light in the people I love.”
The biggest shock was when God showed her another vision – of herself – in the future, if she were to return to earth, choosing to live with forgiveness. He showed her embracing a white friend, the two of them working with poor children, regardless of skin color. “True love begins when you overcome prejudice and see Me in everyone,” God said.
When Monica woke up—what doctors called a “medical miracle”—she was a changed woman. She was no longer the woman who was bitter about history or society. Instead, she became a living testimony to healing, to unconditional love. She began traveling to share her near-death experience, and especially Jesus’ message of transcendence.
She founded an organization that connected black and white people in the community through dialogue, music, prayer, and service. Monica no longer viewed white people with suspicion, but with compassion and forgiveness—which she herself admitted was “the greatest miracle God has done in my heart.”
Monica’s testimony went viral on social media, touching millions of people around the world. Many white people who heard her story cried. They said they had never thought about historical trauma in that way, and it opened their eyes. Many black people have also seen new hope and light – that liberation comes not from revenge, but from forgiveness.
Monica’s story is proof that God does not choose sides, does not take sides in racism. He only takes sides in love and healing. Skin color is just a cover, but the soul is eternal – and in His eyes, all souls are equally precious.
